First, a few links:
Apparently dead people can now have LiveJournals.
And now for Something Positive.

Both of the above are by the same guy, I believe. I found that comic through the zeelist, and have been laughing my ass off for the last few days. There's a lot of good webcomics out there, and I read a shitload of them, but fucking hell, this one is the best. Start at the beginning and work your way through the archive. Where the fuck else are you going to find Dale Earnhardt's death commented on with "Dukes of Hazzard" jokes and angry reality checks directed at Wiccans? Nowhere else, I would submit.

I've been rereading a bunch of my old Transmetropolitan and The Invisibles comics. Now that Transmetropolitan is all finished up I can snatch up all the trades, and finish the fucking story. I was collecting for a while, but then I started having sex again, so no comic book money. (I spent it on my girlfriend, now wife, you sick fucks!)

I've posted a few times about the pagan list I moderate. They're nice people, I guess, but my interests have changed so much that I really don't have much in common with the majority of them anymore. I don't know why I don't turn the reins completely over to my co-moderator, I guess it's just nostalgia for the old days, when there were relevant topics as far as the eye can see, and nary a New Age zombie to be seen. Nevertheless, every now and then the banality subsides and an actual topic surfaces. Lately we've been discussing the use of blood in magic. I had made some comments about my thoughts that the blood itself wasn't that important, but the act of Will involved to cut oneself being what was important(not a biggie for some, I know, but it's kind of a big thing for me, I'm not fond of bleeding). In any case, someone sought to disabuse me of my heretical notions, as their "unseen friends" had told them that blood was very important. Something about a signature vibration. As usual, I was highly amused at the New Age bullshit being heaved my way, so I crafted this reply. I thought I did a pretty good job on it, so I figured I'd repost it here. After all, if you can't be a vain, self-congratulatory prick on your LiveJournal, what good is it for?

Random Listmember: Sorry, but I have a few unseen friends that find that the blood is very important. It is your signature vibration.

the ListWarlock(that would be me): Well I know that blood is important, after all, I need it to circulate oxygen through my body, and if it leaks out, I'm dead. I have no idea what a signature vibration is, but it sounds kind of kinky. Keep in mind that I'm largely an empiricist, and I don't place much merit in faith based assertions. I want some evidence before I treat something as a fact. Blood may have some kind of signature vibration (I hope mine vibrates to "Space Oddity" by David Bowie) but I haven't seen any way of proving it one way or the other, so I treat that kind of issue as irrelevant. The important part for *me* is that since I don't particularly like to cut myself, when I do do it, it's an act of Will against my own inclination not to be bleeding, and thus the ritual has more meaning for me. Now, I don't claim that my personal justification is the one true way, this is just the way *I* look at it. As always, your mileage may vary.

I don't think that was too cruel, I thought it was rather civil actually.

Enough of this masturbatory crap. As a final act of self-indulgence, I gift you with my new e-mail signature, behold and be amazed:

Albert: I've performed the autopsy on Jacques Renault. Stomach contents revealed, let's see, beer cans, a Maryland license plate, half a bicycle tire, a goat, and a small wooden puppet. Goes by the name of Pinocchio.
Cooper: You're making a joke!
Albert: I like to think of myself as one of the happy generations.

Fucking hell, I'm in a mood tonight.
