OK, I downloaded Mozilla Firefox, it rocks. I have no complaints with it (that I've found so far). I had used Firebird for a while, but it had some problems, but Firefox seems to have fixed all that.
So anyway, I figure, "hey, Firefox is pretty good, let me check out this Thunderbird thing," and it works pretty good, too, except for one huge, glaring flaw:
I can't send any goddamn email. I try, and it tosses an authentication error at me, something about how I need to check my SMTP password. Great, I'll get right on that, oh wait, I can't check my SMTP password, because you never asked me for the motherfucker and I have no way to enter it manually, YOU STUPID FUCKS!
Jesus fucking Christ. Hopefully they'll fix this shit in version 0.9. I'm trying to switch everything I do over to Open Source, I'm trying to follow the way of the Penguin, but goddammit, they won't let me!
While I'm on the subject, can someone direct me to a good media player on Linux that I can download and install easily in Linux and will play damn near all the formats, avi, mpg, all that shit? That issue right there is pretty much the only thing keeping me from going to Linux full time at home.
EDIT: I'm home from work, and I can send email just fine from my home computer with Thunderbird. Odd. Well, assuming it holds up, I can say goodbye to OE, at least...
